ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

Luke 10:38-42. "Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered
into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha receive him
into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at
Jesus' feet, and HEARD HIS WORD. But Martha was CUMBERED about much
serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my
sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help
me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, MARTHA, MARTHA, THOU ART
CAREFUL AND TROUBLED ABOUT MANY THINGS: BUT ONE THING IS NEEDFUL: AND
MARY HATH CHOSEN THAT GOOD PART, WHICH SHALL NOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM
HER."... Martha received Jesus into her home to be a blessing to him.
Matt 10:41 says "He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet
shall receive a prophet's reward,..." Martha therefore, was fulfilling
the scripture: doing well to receive and serve Jesus. Martha had a
sister, called Mary, but who sat at Jesus feet to receive HIS WORD.
Martha was busy with serving to please the Lord. She did not care
about the word.
In verses 41 and 42, "And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha,
Martha, thou art careful about many things: But one thing is needful:
and Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from
her." Jesus called Martha twice in verse 41 begging for her attention
and employing her to see the importance of what he had to say on the
issue of her request. Jesus said to her "ONE THING IS NEEDFUL" This
one thing is the base of everything. This one thing is the foundation
of everything in God's kingdom. The continual detailed attention to
and meditation in God's word is not only the basis for profitable
service, but for a fulfilled life. One thing is trully needful. You
can choose that now. Embrace wisdom, it's the principal thing. Prov.
4:7-9,20-22. Josh 1:8 and Matt 5:6. ... END.

TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS

TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS

2 Cor. 4:7. "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellency of the power may be of God and not of us."

In the mid-20th century, the Government of Thailand in Bangkok wanted
to build a highway through a village. This highway would pass through
a Buddhist monastery with a little chapel housing the heavy 11 feet
tall clay statue of Buddha. They decided to relocate
the chapel and its statue. They moved all these one after the other
with a crane. At the turn of the heavy clay statue, the clay began to
break apart and crumble as they lowered it into its new location.
Despite their careful handling, the clay fell off completely. The
workers were amazed at what was revealed: the statue was pure gold
underneath the clay.
Before this revelation, the people estimated the worth of the statue
at about fifty thousand dollars ($50,000). Today, as a result of this
revelation, it is worth millions of dollars and has since become a
major world tourist attraction.
2 Cor. 4:16-18. "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward
man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light
affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more
exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things
which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are
eternal." Like the Buddha statue went
through some little rough handling which brought about the revelation
of the glory of its underneath content, God is working out something
to bring about the revelation of the non-perishable treasures in us.
Whatsoever we go through that seems to be tearing us through is not
without the knowledge of God. He is using whatever we go through to
prepare us for the revelation of HIS TREASURES IN US.
Everyone who is looking at the clay that houses us will not place much
value on us untill the revelation of the unseen, eternal weighty
treasure in us. When we go through fire that is not meant to consume
us, but will only refine us, we come forth as gold. Then, we become
the rare commodity that the world is yearning for and can pay any
prize to enjoy what is revealed in us. In Job 23:10, Job in his trial
declared: "when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." We must
be willing for God to conclude us through the best means he chooses
for the revelation of the excellency of the glory of his treasures
buried in us.

PRAYING WITH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

PRAYING WITH THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Praying in the Spirit

INTRODUCTION: "The power is prayer that soars on high, through Jesus
to the throne. It moves the hand which moves the world to bring
salvation down." - E. M. BOUNDS. Despite the valuable
importance of prayer, it is notable that many people dread it.
To many, prayer is a drag. Though many want to really pray, but they
still find it difficult to enjoy. Believers are not left out in this
struggle. Satan does not want believers to pray, therefore most of the
hindrances are perpetrated by him. The bible teaches us to pray
without ceasing in 1 Thess 5:17. The Lord taught us to pray without
fainting in Luke 18:1-8; 11:5-13. Prayer is a valuable sacrificial key
that opens the heaven's gate and unlocks the treasure of heaven.
Many people in the bible changed their stories because they prayed.
They ruled their world because thy dared Satan and prayed to God.
Jacob wrestled with God in prayer all night long and had his
name/destiny changed from Jacob the cheat or supplanter to Israel, a
prince of God. Gen. 32:24-28. Hannah, one who was called barren,
became a mother of six children because she dared to pray. see 1 Sam.
1:12-17; 2:21. Jabez, a man born poor and whose days were full of
sorrows and pains changed the story of his life and became very great
and honorable because he prayed. See 1 Chron. 4:9-10. Elijah closed
the heaven that rain fell not for three and a half years. He opened
the heaven again and the heaven gave rain because he prayed. See James
5:17-18.
Daniel rose to the position of prominence in Babylon because he was a
man of prayer. See Dan. 6 and 9. >> All that wrought great exploits in
the bible were men and women whose secrete was traceable to their
prayer life. Because prayer is of great necessity to God's kingdom and
our lives, we must be able, even in the face of stiff opposition from
Satan, learn the secrete of praying without ceasing. This is the
reason for this teaching. It will help us to combat the drag we
usually face when we pray. It will build our interest in prayer and
cause us to enjoy all the benefits praying has to offer. Welcome to
struggle-free life of prayers.

THE NEED FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT: In Rom. 8:26-27, Paul the Apostle
wrote: "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know
not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh
intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he
that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of
God" [KJV] From the above passage, we understand that we have great
needs or LIMITATIONS which are (1) We have weaknesses or hindrances in
the place of prayer. (2) We don't know how to better direct our prayer
sometimes. (3) Sometimes we don't even know what we should pray about,
though we know we should pray. (4) There is the need to to resolve the
above limitations and other drags we face in the place of prayer, and
it is the Holy Spirit who can help up out.
(5). The Holy Spirit is all-knowing (omnisciene). He searches all
things, even the deep things of God. 1 Cor. 2:10. He searches all
hearts and knows the problems of every individual, people, family, and
nations we want to pray for. He is the only one who adequately knows
the mind of God for the saints and all situations. (6). The Holy
Spirit helps us to pray with groanings which cannot be uttered or
expressed in any known articulate language. When we consider the
listed reasons, we know that we need the Holy Spirit. If we don't rely
on Him, we will not get the desired result when we pray.
SEEK HIS HELP: Isaiah 41:10,14. "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be
not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee, yea, I will
HELP thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my
righteousness. Fear not thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel. I will
HELP thee, saith the LORD...." >> John 14:16,26. "And I will pray the
Father, and he shall give you another COMFORTER (HELPER) that he may
abide with you for ever. But the COMFORTER (HELPER), which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things. ..." >> John 16:13. "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is
come, he will show you things to come." >>> One of the greatest works
of the kingdom is praying, and one of the good reasons why God has
given us the Holy Spirit. To attempt to pray without his help is a
frustrated attempt, a complete waste of time and energy.
ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PRESENCE AND HELP: We already understand from the
scriptures we read that he will help us. But what use it a help that
we do not recognize. Paul the Apostle instructs us to fellowship with
the Holy Spirit in 2 Cor 13:14. This is one way to acknowledge him to
help us in times of prayer. Tell him to help and he will show up.
Jesus told Paul in 2 Cor. 12:9. "... My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in your weakness." Paul recognized his
weakness and the power of Christ (Holy Spirit) was made available for
him. In Phil. 4:13, Paul said " I can do all things through Christ
which strengtheneth me." When you acknowledge him, seek his power,
strength and direction, prayer becomes a thing of joy.
PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT:
"Tongues have been to me, the making of my ministry. It is that
peculiar communication with God that reveals to my soul the truth I
utter to you day by day in the ministry. ~JOHN G. LAKES.
1 Cor. 14:14-15. "For if I pray in an
UNKNOWN TONGUES, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is
unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit and I will
pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I
will sing with the understanding also." KJV. >> "For if I pray in an
[unknown] tongue, my sprit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but
my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody]. Then
what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that
is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and
understanding; ..." AMP.
I took that scripture from two translations of the bible for a clearer
understanding of what the verses mean. (1). We understand clearly from
the passage that we can pray with our human spirit by the Holy Spirit
dwelling in us. We can also pray by our mind or intellect. We can sing
and glorify God by both means. (2). When we pray with our human spirit
by the Holy Spirit within us, it is called praying in an UNKNOWN
TONGUES and our mind or intellect is not bearing fruit or helping.
When we pray with our mind or understanding, we pray in the language
we understand and choose our words carefully and intelligently so that
we do not say wrong things. (3). So we pray both in tongues and the
language we understand or learnt. (4). When we pray in an unknown
tongue, it is the Holy Spirit who supplies the utterance or language
and we don't have to be careful how we choose our words, because we
cannot make mistakes.
The Holy Spirit is a helper, he helps us by supplying the utterance
and strengthens us to prevail. The Holy Spirit is our helper in all
things we do in the kingdom of God. Without him we are helpless. He is
the essence of God's kingdom. This is why Paul said in Rom. 14:17 that
"The kingdom of God is not in meat and drink (physical); but
righteousness, and peace, and joy IN THE HOLY GHOST." Jude 20 "But
you, beloved, build yourselves up (founded) on your most holy faith
[make progress, rise like an edifice, higher and higher], praying in
the Holy Spirit." AMP. Whatsoever you do outside the Holy Ghost is not
beneficiary to the kingdom of God. Praying in tongues will remove the
drags usually encountered in prayer.

ONE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE OTHER:
Praying in tongues is a total spiritual experience. Though praying in
other language is a spiritual exercise, but not total, because our
minds are limited spiritually. The spiritual usually governs all
things. It is better to deal with spiritual matter in a more spiritual
manner. Prophetic prayer is done when the Holy Spirit takes over you
and your mind and aid your mind prophetically to choose words in a
language you understand and without struggle. The Spirit sometimes
overwhelmes you and aid you to pray in understanding perfectly
choosing words in a language you understand without much of your
efforts involved. This is prophetic prayers. It is just like the
spirit of prophecy comes on you to utter a message. This experience is
just like praying in the spirit, only the utterance is done in a known
language. This experience may not be there always, because I have been
there many times before, it is therefore important to pray in tongues
always.

GROANINGS IN THE SPIRIT: Exodus 2:23-24. "It came to pass in the
process of time that the king of Egypt died: and the children of
Israel SIGHED by the reason of the bondage ... And God heard their
GROANINGS, and God remembered his covenant ..." 1 Sam. 1:12-16. "And
it came to pass as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli
marked her mouth. Now Hannah, she SPAKE IN HER HEART (GROANED); only
her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she
had been drunken. And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a
woman of SORROWFUL SPIRIT: I have drunken neither wine nor strong
drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. Count not thine
hand-maiden for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my
COMPLAINT AND GRIEF have I spoken hitherto." John 11:33,38. "When
Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came
with her, he GROANED IN THE SPIRIT, and was troubled. Jesus therefore
again GROANING IN HIMSELF cometh to the grave. ..." Rom. 8:26.
"Likewise the Spirit also helpth our infirmities: for we know not what
we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh
intercession for us with GROANINGS which cannot be uttered."
I listed all these passages so that we can read and see the truth
about this way to pray. Groanings are series of uncontrollable spasms
that is produced in no articulate language as a result of burdens that
need to be relieved. They are usually produced in no clearly defined
language. They are deep sounds, cracking sounds, sighing sounds,
mournings cryings etc. A good example of this is that which happen
when a woman is in labour to give birth. Groanings in the spirit are
the sounds the Holy Spirit helps you to produce so as to relieve
burdens, pains afflictions etc, a sound which draws God attention to
act according to the heart's desire. They are series of sounds coming
from the innermost being. A language of the spirit, by the Holy
Spirit, which can be translated or interpreted into thousands of
words. As you develop your prayer life and learn to be pregnant with
burdens for people, families, churches, nations and even yourself, you
will experience this overwhelming way to pray.

BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT: We have been able to understand
that praying with the help of the Holy Spirit means praying in the
spirit. Praying in tongues, groaning in the spirit and sometimes
prophetic prayers. The benefits of praying in the spirit are (1).
Result oriented prayer. Because it is the Spirit that gives the
language, it usually yields the desired result. This is probably what
James called the effectual fervent prayer in James 5:16. (2).
Sometimes we don't know how to pray or how to present an issue to God
well enough. The Holy Spirit helps us to do this better in tongues or
groanings. (3). Sometimes we have burdens we cannot explain. Certain
burdens are impressed on us, but we don't know what it is all about.
We are not omnisciene, but the Spirit is and he helps us to pray the
burden through. (4). Praying in tongues is exploring into the
mysteries of God. 1 Cor. 14:1-2. It is a doorway into the supernatural
of God. It helps us to build our spirits, edify ourselves for better.
It helps our spiritual gifts to develop for signs and wonders in and
out of church. (5). Praying in the spirit births the will of God in
our spirits. It is the fastest way to discover purpose and visions in
life. (6). Self-edification - we become empowered and charged up
spiritually for greater exploits. (7). You cannot pray amis. (8).
Hotline to God or a better way of communication to God. (9). For rest
and refreshing. Isa. 28:11-12, Heb. 3:7-4:1-3. Praying long in tongues
brings some spiritual refreshing to our spirits souls and bodies.
(10). Means of drawing out water from the wells of salvation. Isaiah
12:3. Jesus spoke about the rivers of living water out of our belly in
John 7:38. Praying in the spirit is the means to fulfill these
scriptures. Inside you is the well of healing, prosperity, deliverance
and all that is associated with the salvation experience. You draw
them out for your good and the good of others by praying in tongues.

LEVELS OF DEPT: Psalm 42:7. "Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of
thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me."
Praying in tongues brings an overwhelming experience in the spirits
realm. Ezek. 47:1-10. THE ANKLE EXPERIENCE: verse 3, This is a shallow
experience in tongue talking. THE KNEES EXPERIENCE: verse 4, A better
experience than the shallow, but not enough for exploits. THE LOINS
EXPERIENCE: verse 4, This is better than both the ankle and knees, but
still not enough for a great exploit. THE BILLOWS EXPERIENCE: verse 5,
Water to swim in, a river that cannot be passed over. This is the
deepest experience. This is an experience no one can walk. This an
experience you enter and be at the mercy of the torrent. A total take
over. A level of self-sufficiency in the things of the spirit. This is
the very purpose of God for us. We can get there by praying so long in
tongues. Paul described it as being consistently filled with the
Spirit. See Eph. 5:18,19.

CONCLUSION:
we can achieve the billow level of experience with God by simply
cooperating with the Holy Spirit and allow him to take us deep into
praying in tongues. In Eph. 5:18,19, Paul encouraged us to be filled
again and again with the Spirit, "speaking to yourselves in psalms,
and hymns, and spiritual songs." Don't forbid to pray in
understanding, but pray more in the spirit (tongues). As you do this
on a regular basis, your life will be transformed. It will surprise
you what God will do in your life and through you. This work is a
life-time experience. Enter into a new realm of prayer life without
struggle. Practice, and practice and keep practicing untill you are
there. God bless you.

WHY YOU MUST FORGIVE

WHY YOU MUST FORGIVE

Forgiveness is not optional...
Mark 11:25-26. "And when you stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught
against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you
your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father
which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." See also Matt 18:15-35.
Forgiveness is not a choice, but a command from the Lord that must be
obeyed. Only wise people see it as God's instructional command. God,
our Father has forgiven us so much more offences than anybody can ever
wrong us. We should be true children of his kingdom by forgiving any
wrong that anybody might have done to us no matter the degree of wrong
and the number of times.

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FORGIVING: 1. Your sins or wrongs against God will
also not be forgiven. Mark 11:26.
2. Danger of eternal doom: if God does not forgive you your sins, you
will be in danger of hell fire.
3. Danger of torments even now. This means to be imprisoned. Torment
is in the range of many vices: sickness, bondages to Satanic
influences, oppressions, lack, delays etc. See Matt. 18:34-35.

Be wise, obey God and forgive. Pray for those who have done you any
wrong. Confront peacefully, lovingly and lowly everyone who has hurt
you in any way. As you do, God will heal every wound and deliver you
from the scares of oppressions, sickness and doom. God bless you.
... END.

EFFECTS OF WAITING ON THE LORD

THE EFFECTS OF WAITING ON THE LORD
A search-light on the Eagle

INTRODUCTION: Exodus 19:4. "You have seen what I did unto the
Egyptians, and how I BARE YOU ON EAGLES' WINGS, and brought you unto
myself". The eagle is a very special creature with very special
characteristics, features and qualities. It has a unique lifestyle
that makes it stand out among all other birds and creatures of God.
There are four special creatures of God that are unique and different
from others. Their unequal uniqueness make them appear throughout the
bible. They are MAN, LION. OX and EAGLE. Ezek. 1:4-10. The eagle
possesses divine abilities. It is a-god-bird. In this teaching we
shall see why God said, in Isaiah 40:31 "But they that waite upon the
LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as
eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint".

Mounting up!
Isaiah 40:28-31. "Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the creator of the ends of the earth
fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his
understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no
might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be
weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that waite upon
the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall MOUNT UP WITH WINGS AS
EAGLES, they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint."

Every creeping plant is weak and feeble and liable to fall
without the aid of a strong plant. They fall and creep on the ground,
and people trample upon them and they eventually die with a short life
span. They don't excel. But when they creep up and wind themselves
around a stronger plant or tree, they become as strong as that plant.
This is the simple picture of what it means to waite on the Lord.
Believers are weak, feeble and spiritually inactive untill they can
learn to wind themselves round God the Creator, Faint not, Strong,
full of immeasurable understanding and limitless power. Every step you
take to stay as close to God as possible is the step of waiting on the
Lord. Waiting on the Lord is a painstaking effort that will demand
your time, energy and substance. Your consistent prayers and feasting
and diligent study of the word are steps to renewing your strength. The outward man is destroyed, but the inward man is renewed. All effects
of waiting on the Lord can be seen in the next part as we throw a
search light on the eagle. Come with me...

Search light on the eagle

NATURE AND QUALITIES OF THE EAGLE: Isaiah 40:31. "But they that waite
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with
wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk,
and not faint." This declaration is probably one of the most important
statements in the bible. We understand from the above passage that our
waiting on the Lord will produce in us the same effective nature and
abilities the eagle possesses. To fully appreciate and understand this
verse, we need to understand the life, nature, qualities and
characters of the eagle. This I sum up to NATURE AND QUALITIES OF THE
EAGLE...

1. RENEWAL ABILITY: Psalm 103:5. "Who satisfieth thy mouth with good
things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." The eagle has
the ability to renew his strength for a better mounting power. How
does he do this? Micha 1:16. "Make thee BALD, AND POLL thee for thy
delicate children; ENLARGE THY BALDNESS AS THE EAGLE;..." There are
two words in this scripture that explain how the eagle renew strength:
BALD and POLL. The eagle balds or removes feathers and wings by flying
from one end of the rock to another, smashing itself violently on the
rock and using also its beak, until all old feathers and wings are
copletely pulled out of its body. It waites on the rock without any
activity and during the period grows new wings and feathers and a
renewed eagle emerges again. POLL in Hebrew is GAZAZ which means to
cut off, shave and cut down. During this process the eagle becomes
bloody, pulling out the old wings and feathers. This experience is not
palatable, but the eagle must go through it to renew strength. As
believers, we need to painstakingly waite n God denying ourselves of
comforts and stay away in the closeth with fasting and prayers and
digging deep into the rich resources of God and taking in his valuable
word which is able to build us up and renew us for greater exploits.
This what Psalm 103:5 says. WHO SATISFIETH THY MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS,
SO THAT THY YOUTH IS RENDWED AS THE EAGLES.

2. MOUNTING POWER AND INEXHAUSTIBLE STRENGTH: Exodus 19:4. "You have
seen what I did unto the Egyptians and how I brought you ON EAGLES'
WINGS, and brought you unto myself." God himself appreciates the
inexhaustible strength and power of the wings of the eagle. God
compared the ability that brought Israel out of Egypt to eagle's
wings. This is surely what happens to believers when they waite on the
Lord. They exchange their weaknesses with God's unequal strength.
God's strength becomes ours. No more weakness. We receive new strength
for each day of every step of our spiritual journey.

3. SWIFTNESS: Deut. 28:49. "The LORD shall bring a nation against
thee from far, from the end of the earth, AS SWIFT AS THE EAGLE
FLIETH..." 2 Sam. 1:23. Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in
their lives, ... they were SWIFTER THAN EAGLES, they were stronger
than lions." Jer. 4:13. "Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his
chariots shall be as a whirl wind: his horses are SWIFTER THAN
EAGLES..." To be swift means to be quick, spirited and be of great
speed. "They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not
faint." We faint and become less spirited when we don't learn from
time to time to waite on God. The work of our hands becomes a drag and
frustrated for lack of spirigtual energy. Elijah out ran the horses
and chariot of Ahab because he was swift. He had been waiting on the
Lord on Mount Carmel. When we waite on God, we receive divine spreed
to accomplish greater things in lesser time. 1 Kings 18:41-46.

4. POWER OF VISION: Job 39:29. "From thence she seeketh the prey, and
her EYES BEHOLD AFAR OFF." The eagle possesses the ability to see very
far. It has a sharp focus. No other creature has as much power of
vision as the eagle. People usually metaphorically refer to somebody
with sharp focus as having the 'eye of an eagle' or having 'eagle-eye'
Hab. 2:1-2. "I will STAND UPON MY WATCH, AND SET ME UPON THE TOWER,
AND WILL WATCH TO SEE what he will say unto me,... And the Lord
answered me, and said, write the VISION, and make it plain upon
tables; that he may run that readeth it." Certainly, there is no
better way to see our personal future, than to waite on the Lord.
Habakkuk says 'I will stand upon my watch.' This is waiting on the
Lord.
When we waite on God, we enter into the realm of God's supernatural
ability to see. Please see 2 Cor. 3 the entire chapter.

5. POWER OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING: Job 39:26,27. "Doth the hawk
(with the nature of eagle) fly by thy WISDOM and stretch her wings
toward the south? Doth the EAGLE mount up at thy COMMAND, and make her
nest on high?" ... Prov. 30:18-19. "There be thre things which are too
WONDERFUL for me, yea, four which I KNOW NOT: THE WAY OF AN EAGLE IN
THE AIR,..." The eagle does not mount and soar without a wisdom and
understanding. The bible calls it WISDOM and COMMAND. The wise man in
proverbs 30:18-19 commended the soaring ability of an eagle in the
air. He calls this strange.
The eagle mounts up with a particular wind (wisdom). Every kind of
wind blows, but the eagle recognizes the particular wind for mounting
and soaring. This is wisdom and understanding. The eagle soars in the
power of this wind effortlessly. When we waite on God, we receive the
wisdom and understanding to do things better and with less efforts.

6. HEIGHT OF DWELLING: Job 39:28. "She dwelleth and abideth on the
rock, UPON THE CRAG OF THE ROCK, AND THE STRONG PLACE." ... Jer.
49:16. "... O thou that dwellest in the CLEFTS OF THE ROCK, that
holdest the HEIGHT OF THE HILL; though thou shouldest make thy nest as
HIGH AS THE EAGLE, ..." Obad. 1:4. "Though thou exalt thyself as the
EAGLE,..." .. The above scriptures are considered in relative term
with our study, and the negative aspect is not our potion. The eagle
dwells habitually at a height that no other creatures of God can.
Whenever we waite on the Lord, we operate at and from a very high
spiritual frequency. We habitually dwell there. We no longer dwell and
operate from a common height and with the crowd: we stand out. We
dwell in God's presence and operate from there.

7. HEIGHT OF FLIGHT - Toward heaven: Prov. 23:5. "... They fly away
as an EAGLE TOWARD HEAVEN. The word flight means ministry or service
or get engaged in kingdom work. It is believed that the eagle survives
a height of flight at the realm of the Concord Jets. No other creature
can survive the pressure existing there but the eagle. The eagle soars
above every storm and takes total dominance. This is what we achieve
when we consistently waite on God. We dominate every storm and survive
the toughest of height as we serve. We do exploits and reign in life.
Please come with me for more insight on the eagle.

8. RAVENOUS BIRD - DEVOURING POWER: Job 9:26. "They pass away as the
swift ship: AS THE EAGLE THAT HASTETH TO THE PREY." Job . 39:30b "...
Where the slain are, there is she." Isaiah 46:11. "Calling a RAVENOUS
BIRD from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far
country." Hab. 1:8. "... they shall fly as the EAGLE THAT HASTETH TO
EAT." Matt. 24:28. "For wheresoever the CARCASE IS, THERE THE EAGLES
BE GATHERED TOGETHER." The above passages describe the devouring
ability of the eagle. When we waite on the Lord, we receive the
strength to devour our enemies. We become very formidable against the
devil and his kingdom. The powers of darkness simply become meat for
us.

9. ABUNDANT SUPPLY: Job 39:29-30. "From thence she SEEKETH HE PREY
and her eyes behold afar off. Her YOUNG ONES ALSO SUCK UP BLOOD: AND
WHERE THE SLAIN ARE, THERE IS SHE." The eagle and the offspring never
lacks. The eagle is able to sight it's supply from a far distance and
go for it without fail. The eagle eats fresh meat in abundant supply.
This is the life of any believer who waites on the Lord.

10. MODEM OF GOD'S TEACHING AND TRAINING TO MATURITY: Deut. 32:11-12.
"AS AN EAGLE STIRRETH UP HER NEST, FLUTTERETH OVER HER YOUNG,
SPREADETH ABROAD HER WINGS, TAKETH THEM, BEARETH THEM ON HER WINGS: SO
THE LORD ALONE DID LEAD HIM, AND THERE WAS NO STRANGE GOD WITH HIM."
The scripture above describes some of the uniqueness of the eagle in
dealing with her offspring. The bible actually compare this with the
way God deals with his people. The eagle has a nest of protection over
the eaglets to shield them from discomforts. But for the eaglets to
grow into maturity like the eagle and learn to mount up and soar, the
eagle STIRS UP the nest to expose the young to teaching and training.
She begins to spread her wings to show the young ones how to fly. She
makes them spread their wings like her and before they crash for lack
of expertise, she swoops down and pick them on her back with her
wings. The eagle continues this process untill the eaglets learn to
fly like the parent. The eagle has to expose the eaglets to a certain
level of discomforts, but never forsake them until they grow to
maturity. Sir, Humphry Davy gave an illustration on this thus: "I once
saw a very interesting sight above the crags of Ben Nevis. Two parent
eagles were teaching their offsprings, two young
birds, the maneuvers of flight. They began by rising from the top of
the mountain in the eye of the sun. It was about mid-day, and bright
for climate. They at first made small circles, and the young birds
imitated them. They paused on their wings, waiting till they have made
their flight, and then took a second and larger gyration, always
rising toward the sun, and enlarging their circle of flight so as to
make a gradually ascending spiral. The young ones still and slowly
followed, apparently flying better as they mounted; and they continued
this sublime exercise, always rising till they become mere points in
the air, and the young ones were lost, and afterwards their parents,
to our aching sight,"

Conclusion

EAGLE-BELIEVERS: Like the eagle, God teaches, trains, protects and
guides us to maturity. We may not really enjoy some of the ways God
will train us. Some of his trainings will expose us to some
discomforts. This training will eventually produce God in us. Like the
eaglets can mount up like the parent after training, we also can do
what our Father does. Our waiting on God is a means of training. It
will produce God's nature in us. We can further train others by the
training we have received from him.
We are eagle believers. To live up to this reality, we ought to
understand who we trully are. We must make time out of no time to
develop our nature through a life-stile of waiting on the Lord. Many
nations understand the uniqueness of the eagle and that is why some
engrave the eagle on their flags, currency, military and law
enforcement garments as national symbol. National associations, clubs
and political parties are named after eagle. God does not intend that
we should live our lives less than his expectations for us. Don't
forget that "...They that waite upon the LORD shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Thank you for
reading, I hope you have been blessed.

STEPS TO ABUNDANT HARVEST

Genesis 8:22. While the earth remaineth, seed time and
harvest,...Shall not cease.
Gal. 6:7. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man
soweth, that shall he also reap.
Harvests are commanded by seed sowing. Let no one think of receiving
any without sowing. It is good to pray because it's another kind of
seed sowing. To keep praying for financial harvest without sowing
financially is trying to break the principle of sowing and reaping.

FOUR BASIC PRINCIPLES FOR ABUNDANT HARVEST: Hosea 10:12 Sow to
yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow
GROUND: for it is TIME to seek the LORD, till he come and RAIN
righteousness upon you. There are four basic principles we can draw
out of the above passage:
SOWING OF THE SEED, THE GROUND FOR THE SEED, RAIN OVER THE SEED and
TIME OR SEASON OR OPPORTUNITY TO SOW

1. THE SEED SOWN:
A seed is an integral part of a substance that has the potent power to
produce more of that substance if it is properly and carefully sown.
Gen 1:11-12. Every seed is liable to reproduce abundantly if it can
pass the following tests:
i. QUALITY TEST: Quality is the worth of the seed. Psalm 126:6 He that
goeth forth and weepeth, bearing PRECIOUS SEED, shall doubtless come
again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. The quality of
the seed sown determines the quality of the harvest reaped. The widow
of Zarephath gave Elijah aquality seed. She gave of the only seed left
for her and her son to eat and DIE. She actually laid her life down
when she gave to Elijah first. She had more than enough for her, her
son and Elijah allthrough the rest of the famine years. See 1 Kings
17:8-12. Jesus commended the widow who gave all her last earnings.
Though they were just two mites, but she was judged to be the best
giver. See Mark 12:41-44.
Isaac sowed in the land of Gerar, but in the time of famine. This was
a precious or quality seed. It could have been eaten to sustain the
family during the crucial time of famine. No wonder, he reaped
ahundred-fold harvest the same year! The quality of your seed
determines the quality of your harvest.
ii. QUANTITY OR MEASURE TEST: Luke6:38. Give, and it shall be given
unto you. GOOD MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, and SHAKEN TOGETHER, and RUNNING
OVER, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that
ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 2 Cor. 9:6 But this
I say, He which soweth SPARINGLY shall reap also SPARINGLY; and he
which soweth BOUNTIFULLY shall reap also BOUNTIFULLY. In Luke 6:38,
there are four different measures of giving which will produce equal
measures of harvest. This does not mean that one will receive the same
measure or amount sown, but the harvest will be proportionate to the
measure of seed sown. A good measure will produce good harvest. A
pressed down measure will produce better harvest than good. Harvest is
measured to you according to the measure of the seed sown.
iii. SOURCE OF THE SEED TEST: A bad seed will produce bad or no
harvest at all. There are cursed seeds. Cain gave to the Lord cursed
seed from a cursed ground. See Gen 4.There are corrupt seeds. Mal 2:3
and Matt 7:17. The kind of seed in your hand will determine the kind
of harvest you get. A stolen fortune given as a seed will bring no
good harvest or none at all. Whenever we give bad seed we forfeit our
harvests.

2. THE GROUNDS FOR THE SEED: Every good seed requires a good ground to
produce harvest. In Matth 13:3, Jesus gave a parable of the sower. The
seeds in the hand of the sower were good seeds because they were the
seeds of the kingdom of God. The grounds were the variables: WAY SIDE,
STONY GROUNDS THORNY GROUNDS and GOOD GROUND. Only the seed that fell
on good ground brought forth harvest according to the measure
received. I will like to discuss two types of grounds relative to this
study. THE SOWER GROUND and RECEIVER GROUND.

i. THE SOWER GROUND: Hosea 10:12. I said, plant the good seed of
righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard
ground of your HEART, for now it is time to seek the Lord... (NLT)
Jere. 4:1-4. Let us see verses 3 and 4. ''Thus saith the LORD to the
men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not
among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD and TAKE AWAY THE
FORESKINS OF YOUR HEART, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of
Jerusalem... because of the evil of your doings. 2 Cor. 9:7 Every man
according as he purposeth IN HIS HEART, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a CHEERFUL GIVER''.

In Hosea 10:12, God told Israel to breakup the fallow grounds. A
fallow ground is a ground not adequately prepared to receive seed. A
hard, thorn and thistle-filled ground. NLT Bible call it THE HARD
GROUND OF YOUR HEART In Jer 4:3,4, and 2 Cor 9:7, we clearlly
understand that the ground God is talking about is the ground of the
HEART. Your heart is the first ground for your seed. It's the most
important ground. The state of your heart when you sow will determine
to a greater extent the harvest. You can't reap a good harvest if you
sow with a grudging, envious, unforgiving and lack of penitent heart,
though your seed may be good: your heart corrupts your seed. Paul said
God loveth a cheerful giver The motive of your heart when sowing will
influence or affect your harvest.

5 BASIC THINGS TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE GROUND OF THE HEART:
a. Give motivated by love from your heart.
b. Give cheerfully.
c. Give and expect a miracle: Prov 23:18, Prov 24:14. Your expectation
shall not be cut off.
d. Make God the source of your harvest.
e. Consider the seed sown dead. Untill the seed you sow dies, it never
brings forth harvest. John 12:24. Verily, Verily, I say unto you,
Except a corn of wheat falls into the ground and DIE, it abideth
alone: but if it DIE, it bringeth forth much fruit. This statement is
true, not only with a corn seed, but with any kind of seed. Every seed
must be alive to qualify for sowing and must be dead to bring harvest.
If you sow a seed (financial for instance), don't attach yourself to
the seed. Whatever is done with it should not be your concern. Your
concern should be how to get your harvest. When you give out something
and expect the receiver to use it according to how you desire, you are
wrong. You still attach yourself to the seed like the owner. To you,
that seed is not yet dead. You may naturally be aggravated when you
discover that the seed you gave out and expect the receiver to use in
a particular way has been miss-used or given out to someone else. Your
anger may be an indication that you still hold on to the seed despite
that you have sown it. A farmer does not in any way go back to the
earth to see what the earth is doing with the seed he has committed to
the earth otherwise he won't get any harvest. Believers loose thier
harvest because they become concerned with how the church use their
money because they are the givers and not because they are sincerely
concerned. Jesus said your seed must be dead to bring it's harvest.
Every seed must be alive for sowing and must be dead after sowing to
produce much harvest. Don't attach yourself to any seed you have sown.
That seed is no longer yours: only the harvest is. This is a mystery
about sowing and reaping. I hope and pray that you understand the
point I am giving here.

ii. THE RECEIVER GROUND:
The second type of ground is the receiver ground. These may be God,
Prophets, Parents, Widows, The poor, Brethren and The Needies. The
harvest each of these grounds produce differs respectively. I am not
about taking each of these grounds one after the other. My prayer is
that God will lead you to sow appropriately.

3. OPEN HEAVENS OR RAIN:
This is the third principle for abundant harvest. Remember that we are
discussing the principles for abundant harvest. We have four principles
in our focus. We have discussed two, which are THE SEED SOWN and THE
GROUNDS FOR THE SEED. Open heavens is synonymous to Rain. Hosea 10:12
... it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and RAIN righteousness
upon you. Joel 2:23-24. Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice
in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the FORMER RAIN moderately,
and he will cause to come down for you the RAIN, the FORMER RAIN, and
the LATTER RAIN in the first month. And the floors shall be full of
WHEAT, and the VAT shall overflow with WINE and OIL. James 5:7. Be
patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold the
husbandman waiteth for the precious FRUIT OF THE EARTH, and hath long
patience for it, untill he receive the EARLY AND LATTER RAIN. The
scriptures above indicate the importance of rain oropen heavens in
seed sowing and harvest. As
the physical rain is vital for physical harvest, so is spiritual rain
for spiritual harvest. There can be no harvest without rain or open
heavens.

RAIN FROM ABOVE - OPEN HEAVENS: Isaiah 55:10. For as the rain cometh
down, and the snow from HEAVEN, and returneth not thither, but watereth
the earth, and maketh it BRING FORTH and BUD, that it may give seed to
the sower, and bread to the eater:... WHAT IS OPEN HEAVENS AND HOW DO I
EXPERIENCE IT? James 5:17-18. Elias was a man subject to like passion
as we are, and HE PRAYED EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it
rained not on the earth by a space of three years and six months. And
HE PRAYED AGAIN and THE HEAVEN GAVE RAIN and THE EARTH BROUGHT FORTH HER
FRUIT. Open heavens occur when the people of God develop a passionate
quest and hunger for God. 2 Chro. 7:13-14. If I shut up heaven that
there be no RAIN,... If my people, which are called by my name, shall
HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, and SEEK MY FACE, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED
WAYS; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and
HEAL THEIR LAND. Hosea 10:12 says after you have sown your seed, call
upon the Lord till he come and rain his
blessing on you. Open heaven is a rain of heavenly blessings onthe
earth. It is the greatest secrete to abundant harvest.
The promise of open heavens in Joel 2:23-28, was fulfilled in Acts 2
when theApostles gathered together in the upper room, waiting for the
promise of God's heavenly rain. The scripture, from verse 2. Says And
suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled the house where they were sitting. Peter stood up to
preach and in that single day, three thousand souls were saved
(harvest). The opening of heavens. And the outpouring of that heavenly
rain (Spirit of God), brought an endless harvest to the kingdom of God.
The fame of the Apostles went abroad. Many were brought to Christ
daily. The church grew and multiplied in geometric progression. This is
what happens when the heavens open: abundant harvest. Closed heavens
renders the seeds (efforts) fruitless. Our continual and persistence
prayer provokes a speedy harvest of our seed.

4. THE SEASON OR TIME OR OPPORTUNITY:
This is the last but not the least of the principles under discussion.
Hosea 10:12. ... it is TIME to seek the Lord... Gen. 8:22 While the
earth remaineth, SEED TIME and HARVEST...shall not cease. Eccl. 3:2 A
time to be born, and a time to die; A TIME TO PLANT, and TIME TO PLUCK
UP THAT WHICH IS PLANTED. There is time for everything under the heaven.
The above passages clearly indicates that there is time to sow. Every
farmer has and understand thes owing season. Season, time
and opportunity are the same. God usually presents opportunity for us
to sow seeds. They may not be the most likely opportunity for us, but we
must be sensitive to it. Eccl. 8:5 says Whoso keepeth the commandment
shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both TIME
and judgement. A wise man is able to discern the opportunity to sow and
to act accordingly, though it may not be an appealing opportunity. Men
and women who sowed during the time of famine and lack reaped
great harvest. Though it was not a likely time to sow, but their actions
brought them unusual harvest. In Gen. 26:12, Isaac sowed in Gerer during
the time of famine and lack and he reaped a hundred fold harvest
the same year. In 1 Kings 17:8-12, the widow sowed into the life of the
man of God during the time of famine and lack of the last seed in her
house and she and Elijah and her son were sustained through out
the remaining years of famine. Eccl. 9:11 says time and chances
always present themselves to men. Eccl 11:4 says he that regards the
wind will not sow. The wise man encouraged us to sow all the time when
opportunity presents itself. Please read the entire chapter of Eccl.
11.

THE WAITING PERIOD:

"...Till he come and rain righteousness upon you". Hosea 10:12e.

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waitheth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath LONG PATIENCE for IT, UNTIL HE RECEIVE THE EARLY AND LATTER RAIN. " James 5:7.

Mark 4:26-28 KJV

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Hebrews 6:12 KJV

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 10:36 KJV

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 KJV

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

All the scriptures above show that there is a waiting period between when seeds are shown and when harvest comes. We must respect this.

It takes both faith and patience to receive from the Lord.

Remember that impatience can make you cancel your harvest by saying whatever contradicts faith.

Prayer: May you receive the grace to work these principles. May they
pass from the realm of knowledge to practical steps for you. May you
enjoy the dividend of walking in these principles. May your steps
transcend into life-giving testimonies in Jesus name.

A CHRISTIAN

A CHRISTIAN

A MESSAGE FROM A FRIEND:
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston Texas, USA. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.' When his stop came, he paused shortly at the door and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.' The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town? ''Yes' he replied. 'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.
I'llsee you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.' Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember – You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. So, I choose to forward it to you - my friends. God bless you!
I hope you are having a wonderful day!
If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will happen; but, if you do, you will have ministered to someone.
The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not PROTECT you.

PROFITING WITH YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS

PROFITING WITH YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
INTRODUCTION

I was waiting on the Lord sometime in the month of July 2009, when the Lord expressed it to me to intensify my teaching on spiritual gifts. I feel that believers ought to understand the operation of the Holy Spirit in this area. I also feel that this avenue is proper to disseminate this. Please welcome to this important teaching.

INTRODUCTION

Our calling is two fold. A call to be saved and a call to serve. Every believer is called to minister. Therefore, God has equipped us for the work of the ministry.
The equipping is in two fold. The ministry gifts and the spiritual gifts. The ministry gifts are the five-fold ministry gifts (Apostle, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher) and other ministry gifts referred to as helps (other serving capacity than the five-fold ministry gifts.) Eph 4:11 and Rom 12:4-8, 1 Cor 12:28. The spiritual gifts essentially compliment these ministry gifts. The spiritual gifts are the instruments needed to show the beauty of the ministry gifts. The purpose of this teaching is to look into the subject of spiritual gifts with a view to show what they are and how best to enjoy their manifestation. Please welcome!

DIVERSITIES OF GIFTS.

1 Cor 12:1-4. Now about spiritual gifts (the special endowments of spiritual energy), brethren, I do not want you to be misinformed. You know that when you were heathen, you were led off after idols and could not speak (habitually) as impulse directed and whatever the occasion might arise. Therefore, I want you to understand that no one SPEAKING UNDER THE POWER AND INFLUENCE OF THE [HOLY] SPIRIT OF GOD can (ever) say, Jesus be cursed. And no one can (really) say, Jesus is (my) Lord, except by and under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit. Now there are DISTINCTIVE VARIETIES AND DISTRIBUTIONS OF ENDOWMENTS (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguinsing certain christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the [Holy] Spirit and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same. (Amplified version)

From the above scriptures, we understand that:
1. Spiritual gifts are outstanding and  endowments by the Holy Spirit.
2. The vehicle through which the endowments are produced is through speaking.
3. The true test that the endowments are of the Holy Spirit is that they must glorify Jesus.
4. These endowments are diverse - distinctive varieties.
5. These endowments distinguish believers - make us see and understand the distinctive uniqueness of ministries.

WHAT ARE THESE ENDOWMENTS OR GIFTS?
Untill these endowments manifest by the impulse of the Holy Spirit, we cannot see, know and understand them.
1 Cor 12:7-10.
But the MANIFESTATION of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit THE WORD OF WISDOM; to another THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE by the same Spirit; to another FAITH by the same Spirit; to another THE GIFTS OF HEALING by the same Spirit; to another THE WORKING OF MIRACLES; to another PROPHECY; to another DIVERS KINDS OF TONGUES; to another THE INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES:
The above verses enumerated NINE GIFTS. I will base this study on these nine and I believe these are all about the spiritual gifts taught in the bible especially in the new testament.

WHO IS QUALIFIED FOR SPIRITUAL GIFTS?
1 Cor 12:7,11.
7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to EVERY MAN to profit withal.
11. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, DIVIDING TO EVERY MAN severally as he will.
Every man in the above passage means every believer in Christ Jesus. Every Christian is automatically qualified to manifest the gifts of the Spirit or spiritual gifts as long as they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 19:6.
In Acts 2:39, Peter said ''For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.'' Every one God calls ought to manifest at least a gift of the Holy Spirit.

VEHICLE OF THE ENDOWMENTS OR GIFTS
Though there are nine different gifts, but each manifest through speaking. Each one of the gifts is seen and recognized as the individual manifesting it speak forth. 1 Cor 12:3. Wherefore I give you to understand that no man SPEAKING BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD calleth Jesus accursed: and no man can SAY that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost (KJV). Whenever the Holy Spirit manifests any of his gifts through any believer in the church, the vehicle or avenue used is the tongue. Although there gifts of the Spirit that manifest primarilly by speaking, but every other cannot manifest without speaking. Jesus manifested the healing gifts by speaking, he did all the workings of miracle by speaking, he operated the gift of faith by speaking. If any man is doing a miraculous work without speaking, it should be challenged. Only magicians produce results without speaking. The creation account in Genesis was done with God speaking. ''And God said'' appeared about 10 times in the Genesis creation account in chapter 1 only.

THE TRUE TEST OF THE GIFTS
It must glorify Jesus! John 16:13-14. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not SPEAK of himself; but whatsoever he hear, that shall he SPEAK: and he will show you things to come. He shall GLORIFY ME: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.
1 Cor 12:3. Wherefore I give you to understand that no man SPEAKING by the Spirit of God CALLETH JESUS ACCURSED: and no man can SAY that JESUS IS LORD but by the Holy Spirit.
Rev 19:10. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, see thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant and of thy brethren that have THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS: worship God: FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY (KJV).
Jesus said in John 16:13-14, that the ministry of the Holy Spirit shall glorify him. In 1 Cor 12:3, Paul said no man can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. This statement is more than just saying ''Jesus is Lord'' He said no one manifesting the Spirit can curse Jesus. These statements actually mean that any man manifesting the gifts of the Spirit will do it to glorify Jesus. In Rev 19:10, John said that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. In other words, manifesting the gifts of the Spirit testifies to the Lordship of Jesus. Every spiritual gift manifestation must point glory to the Lord Jesus (God) and no one else. Spiritual gifts are not for self glorification. The gifts are given for the Lordship of Jesus to be proclaimed.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians to correct them and to make them understand the grace of God upon them was not for self- glorification, but for the glory of the Lord Jesus. If a man in manifesting any of the gifts glorifies himself or make others glorify him, he is abusing the grace. If any man gratifies himself through the use of any of the gifts of the Spirit, we should be careful of such person. It is either he/she is proud or in error or is false. Beware of false teachers!

OUTLOOK OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS

In 1 Cor 12:7-11, nine gifts are listed.
1. THE WORD OF WISDOM.
2. THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE.
3. FAITH
4. GIFTS OF HEALING.
5. THE WORKING OF MIRACLES.
6. PROPHECY.
7. DISCERNING OF SPIRITS.
8. DIVERS KINDS OF TONGUES.
9. THE INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES.
These nine gifts are divers in operations, but it is the same Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 12:4.
Some of these gifts are similar in their operations and by this similarity, they are grouped accordingly. The word of wisdom, the word of knowledge and discerning of spirits are similar in operation: they are REVELATIONAL in outlook. Prophecy, divers kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues are similar: they are utterance in outlook. Faith, gifts of healing and the working of miracles are similar: they are power in outlook.
The nine gifts are grouped into three families according to their similarities.
REVELATION GIFTS: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge and discerning of spirits.
UTTERANCE GIFTS: prophecy, divers kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues.
POWER GIFTS: faith, gifts of healing and the working of miracles.

OUTLOOK OF REVELATION GIFTS

Revelation gifts are gifts that see into the realm of the spirits. This is why they are together as a family. They are The Word of Wisdom, The Word of Knowledge and Discerning of Spirits.
THE WORD OF WISDOM: 1 Cor 12:8. ''For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom.'' This is an endowment of the Spirit with ability to see A PART of all in the mind of God for the FUTURE. It is the manifestation of the Spirit of God that reveals a part out of much that God has for an individual, family, nations and the entire world or universe of the things that are yet to occur.
The revelation of all tomorrows are words of wisdom. The word of the Lord that came through Samuel to Saul in 1 Samuel 10:1-9 is a combinatiom of the words of wisdom.
1 Samuel 10 :1-7,9. 1. Then Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? 2. When thou art departed from me today, THEN THOU SHALT FIND two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and THEY WILL SAY unto thee, the asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, what shall I do for my son? 3. Then shalt thou go on forward from thence and thou shall come to the plain of Tabor, and there SHALL MEET thee three men going up to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine.
4. And THEY WILL salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands. 5. After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou SHALT MEET a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabet, and a pipe, and a harp, before them, and they SHALL PROPHESY: 6. and the Spirit of the LORD WILL COME upon thee and thou SHALL PROPHESY with then, and SHALT be turned into another man. 9. ... AND ALL THOSE SIGNS CAME TO PASS THAT DAY. Samuel saw series of what will happen to Saul in a few hours in the future. These are words of wisdom spoken to Samuel in prophecy.
Acts 21:10-11. 10. And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. 11. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, so shall the Jews bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him unto the hands of the Gentiles. This revelation came to pass after many days from when it was spoken. This is the word of wisdom spoken like a prophecy. Every revelational prophecy that points to the future is a word of wisdom.. All prophecies of old and new testaments prophets addressing the future is a word of wisdom. The prophecy about the birth of Jesus and John the Baptist are words of wisdom. John's prophecy about the second coming of Christ and the millennium are examples. The entire bible is a combination of words of wisdom. They were declared before they came.

THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE: 1 Cor 12:8. It is an endowment of the Spirit with ability to see a part of all in the mind of God for the PAST AND PRESENT. Most of what Moses wrote were words of knowledge. Revelation of the past events on earth before Moses was born and called into the ministry.
2 Kings 5:25-26. 25. But he went in, and stood before his master, and Elisha said unto him, whence comest thou, Gahazi? And he said, thy servant WENT no thither. 26. And he said unto him WENT NOT MINE HEART WITH THEE WHEN THE MAN TURNED AGAIN FROM HIS CHARIOT TO MEET THEE... God gave Elisha a revelation of what took place between Naaman and Gahazi, when Gahazi took the bribe. This is word of knowledge.

2 kings 6:8-12
8. Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, in such and such a place shall be my camp.
9. And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
10. And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself, not once or twice.
11. Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and called his servants, and said unto them, will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?
12. And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, TELLETH the king of Israel the WORDS THAT THOU SPEAKEST IN THY BEDCHAMBER. This is an example of the word of knowledge. God revealed to Elisha every present plan of the king of Syria.

John 4:16-19.
16. Jesus said unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come thither.
17. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, thou has well said, I have no husband. 18. FOR THOU HAST HAD FIVE HUSBANDS; AND HE WHOM THOU NOW HAST IS NOT THY HUSBAND: in that saidst thou truly.
19. the woman saith unto him, sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
From the dialogue between the samaritan woman at the well and Jesus came the complete picture of the word of knowledge. Jesus saw the number of husbands she had had in the past and that the one she now has is not her true husband. the woman concluded that Jesus must be a prophet because of the revealed past and present.

DISCERNING OF SPIRITS: 1 Corinth 12:10.
It is the endowment of the Holy Spirit that identifies spirits. It comes in visions, dreams, trances and inward perceptions. The ability to see, and recognize the spirits is discerning of spirits. It is usually more than just identifying evil spirits. Many believers call this discernment, but its not. The bible calls it DISCERNING OF SPIRITS. This is a gift of the Spirit and not the same as a general ability every believer has to discern what is good from bad through deep study and experience in the usage of the word of God. Discerning of Spirit is a special ability from the Holy Spirit at his will. Heb 5:14 "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of FULL AGE, even those who by reason of use have their (spiritual) senses exercised to DISCERN both good and evil".
This scripture is not talking about discerning of spirits.
Discerning of spirits is a gift which manifests only as the Spirit of God enables an individual to see and know both good and evil spirits. The scripture we read in Heb 5:14 is talking about maturity in God and his word through which we are able to train our spiritual senses to distinguish what is good from what is evil morally. In discerning of spirits you can see and know the spirits and possibly its operations and names. It is not the same as speculation - thinking it should be and not very sure. In discerning of spirits, you are sure. It is not mind reading or psychic perception. It is not the same as ability of a medium to see ascenstral or familiar spirits. All of these are not gifts of the Holy Spirit. See 1 Samuel 28:7-16.

DISCERNING OF GOOD SPIRITS
Daniel 9:20-21.
20. And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of God;
21. Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the MAN GABRIEL, whom I had SEEN IN THE VISION at the beginning being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
Daniel saw the spirit, knew his name and mission. This is discerning of spirit.
Please take the time out to read the following scriptures: Ezek 1:4-5; Isa 6:1-2; Acts 7:55-56 and Rev 1:9-20. All these show clearly the examples of discerning of spirits (good spirits). The revelations of men, angels, the Lord Jesus himself and even the SIMILITUDE of the Father on the throne are examples of discerning of spirits (GOOD SPIRITS).

DISCERNING OF EVIL SPIRITS: Rev 13:1-12.
I will take verses 1 and 11. Please read all the verses on your own.
1. And I stood upon the sand of the sea and SAW A BEAST rise up out of the sea having seven heads and Ten horns and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his head the name of Blasphemy.
11. And I beheld another BEAST coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he SPAKE AS A DRAGON.
Please read also Rev 17:3-5 and Rev 19:19-20. All these are examples of discerning of spirits (bad spirits). Every revelation about God the Father, The Lord Jesus, men, angels and demons in the bible are discerning of spirits. Isaiah saw the SIMILITUDE of the Lord sitting on the throne. Isa 6:1. Moses saw the back side of God. Exodus 33:20-23. Stephen saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God. Acts 7:55.
The revelation gifts are common tools in the ministry of a prophet.

OUTLOOK OF THE UTTERANCE GIFTS The utterance gifts are the manifestations of the Spirit that speak or declare. They are Prophecy, Divers Kinds Of Tongues and The Interpretation Of Tongues. PROPHECY: 1 cor 12:10. Prophecy is the manifestation of the Spirit that speak unto men for edification, exhortation and comfort. It is the endowment of the Spirit that every believer ought to desire to manifest. The true test of this gift is that it should build, encourage and comfort the church.
EDIFICATION: Speaking to men to build them up or improve them. EXHORTATION: Speaking to men to encourage or persuade them to do something or become better in life. COMFORT: Speaking to men to ease them of the pains, worries and troubles of life. Prophecy is a brief utterance inspired by the Holy Spirit to EDIFY, EXHORT and COMFORT the church. It is commonly called simple prophecy or forth-telling.

1 Cor 14:3. "But he that prophesieth SPEAKETH unto men to EDIFICATION, and EXHORTATION, and COMFORT." A song inspired by the Holy Spirit (spiritual song) is a simple prophecy. Exhortation from the word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit is a simple prophecy. This kind of prophecy is called forth-telling. This is a gift that every believer ought to desire to manifests. The prophecy of a prophet is usually a combination of word of wisdom, word of knowledge and sometimes discerning of spirits spoken like a prophecy. This kind of prophecy is called fore-telling. Every believer should manifest the simple gift of prophecy or forth-telling. It is the right of ALL BELIEVERS. Paul in 1 Cor 14:1, said "...But rather that YE may prophesy." In verse 5, "I would that YE ALL spake with tongues, but that YE prophesied." verse 26, "..EVERYONE of you hath...to edifying.

In Acts 19:6, Paul laid hands on twelve believers and all of them spoke with tongues and PROPHESIED. Everything you do in the church that can bring either edification, exhortation or comfort is simple gift of prophecy and all believers must follow after it. The prophecies of the prophets may not be spoken to edify or comfort sometimes because they are beyond simple prophecies. Agabus, the prophet, spoke of the arrest of Paul at Jerusalem. This is not simple prophecy. It did not comfort the church in any way, but otherwise. It was the word of wisdom spoken and the church became worried about Paul going to Jerusalem. They actually persuaded him not to. See Acts 21:10-14. Some of the messages of a prophet can bring fear and concern. This message was intended to warn Paul. If you were in Paul's place and not sold out to God. You would be discouraged and afraid to continue the mission.
The messages of a prophet is beyond speaking to the church to comfort or edify. This does not mean that prophets don't speak to the church for comfort and exhortation. They do. There are prophets sent to nations and those sent to the church. Prophets speak about what will happen to individual, nations and the world of the good or bad to come. Prophets are instruments of judgement and warnings from the Lord. Their messages are deeper and stronger than that of just any believer with the gift of prophecy. It is the same anointing and grace, but a prophet ministers under stronger hands. God can also use any believer to give warnings to the church or individual of the plans of the enemy and God for the future, but this does not mean that such believer is a prophet. There is more to the office of a prophet than I can discuss here. Desire earnestly to profit the church with your gift.

DIVERS KINDS OF TONGUES: 1 Cor 12:10.
It is the endowment of the Spirit that enables an individual believer speak with tongues which is not the same as praying in tongues. When this is interpreted, it is equatalent to prophecy.
1 Cor 14:5. "I would that YE ALL spake with TONGUES, but rather that YE prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, EXCEPT HE INTERPRET, that the church may receive EDIFYING. Here Paul is not talking about praying in tongues, but the manifestation of the Spirit that no believer can manifest at his/her will, but as the Holy Spirit will. This is a gift of the Spirit that is intended to give a message to an individual or the church, if it can be interpreted. This should not be confused with praying in tongues that believers can exercise anytime at will. This is a gift of the Spirit that can only manifest as the Spirit wills.

DIVERSITIES OF TONGUES: 1 Cor 12:28.
"And God has set in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, DIVERSITIES OF TONGUES."
There is something Paul is talking about here that I believe is deeper than the gift of divers kinds of tongues. The gifts being enumerated by Paul here, are ministry gifts and not just spiritual gifts. The ministry of diversities of tongues is peculiar with the apostles and prophets. But God can call an individual to fill that gap, who may not necessarily be in any of the five-fold ministry gifts. In 1 Cor 14:6, Paul said, "Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall it profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine."
In verses 18-19, he said, "I speak with tongues more than ye all: yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might TEACH others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue." Paul in the above verses is not necessarily emphasizing praying in tongues, though we may refer to it when teaching about praying in tongues. He is actually talking about a ministerial gift of diversities of tongues that can be used to minister to the church through the instruments of tongues and interpretation. A prophet can be inspired by the Holy Spirit while teaching, to speak with tongues and interprete to teach the church. This is more like a ministry and is deeper than what any believer can just manifest. The same anointing, but stronger than that which enables the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. In these last days, we shall see more of this.

INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES: 1 Cor 12:10. This is the endowment or gift of the Spirit that enable a believer to interprete a message spoken in tongues. 1 Cor 14:13. "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongues pray that he may interprete." When messages spoken in tongues are interpreted, it is equal to prophecy. Therefore the combination of the manifestations of the gifts of divers kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues is equal to prophecy. Desire to manifest this gifts together, but rely on the Holy Spirit to help.
By the grace of God I have been endowed to manifest some of the gifts I have so far taught: REVELATION AND UTTERANCE GIFTS. My ministry will not have been complete if not for the endowments.

OUTLOOK OF THE POWER GIFTS The power gifts are the endowments or gifts of the Spirit when manifested, bring instant action leading to healing, deliverance and miracles. Acts 10:38 says "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost AND POWER: who went about doing good, and HEALING ALL THAT WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL; for God was with him. These gifts are Faith or Wonder-working Faith, Gifts Of Healing and The Working of Miracles. They are gifts that acts or do. They are common manifestations in the ministry of Apostles, prophets and evangelists. See Acts 8:5-7; 5:12 and 2 Cor 12:12.

FAITH OR WONDER-WORKING FAITH: 1 Cor 12:9. Note that we are considering GIFTS of the Spirit. The faith we are talking about here is not that with which all believers grow to live a victorious christian life. It is not the faith with which you believe God to answer your prayer, though it may manifest sometimes like that. It is not the faith that comes through deep study of the word. It is not what believers grow into. It is not the general faith. It is a supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit at his will to bring about a miracle even at the expense of the faith of one manifesting it and one to receive the miracle. At the manifestation of this gift, you are taken over by the Spirit and doubts cannot set in untill the miracle is done and the anointing lifts up. Manifesting this gift is not in the effort of the believer, nor is it in his maturity. It is in the POWER of the SPIRIT.
When Joshua spoke to the sun to stand still for a whole day in Joshua 10:12-13, it was not because Joshua had enough faith for this, it was the manifestation of supernatural faith. The hand of God came on him to declare this without a single doubt. See Acts 3:1-8,16. Acts 13:6-11. Please read Acts 3:1-8 and compare it with Acts 14:8-10. In both scriptures, cripples were healed, but by two different ways. Acts 3:1-8, was by the gift of faith manifesting through Peter, the apostle. And Acts 14:8-10 was by the faith of the cripple when he listened to Paul's teaching. The first is a manifestation of the Spirit and the second is not. Now, I am not saying it was not the Spirit of God that healed in both cases, but that the ways both healings came differ. Many miracles and signs done in the bible were by the operation of the gift of faith.
Have you tried to move a particular mountain before and it seems un-movable and doubts began to set in? I have been there before. It is because you were not operating in the gift of faith. You can believe God for any miracle and keep trusting him refusing to doubt untill answer comes. This is the general faith all believer should exercise. Mark 11:20-24. It is not the same as manifesting the gift of faith. You can pray for someone to be healed and teach the person to receive his healing by confessing it untill it is done. This is not manifesting the gift of faith. The gift of faith manifests as the Spirit wills. 1 Cor 12:11. The manifestation usually results in instant miracles and signs. This gift will usually manifest in the ministry of the five-fold, especially apostles, prophets and evangelist. They are notable for manifesting POWER GIFTS. Nevertheless, the place of prayer is vital.

GIFTS OF HEALING: 1 Cor 12:9. Some of the healings done in the bible and in our contemporary meetings especially crusades are done by the exercise of the healing gifts. Here, those who are healed don't even have faith to be healed. This is the manifestation of the Spirit as he wills. The Spirit of God has healed many doubters before through the exercise of this gift. There is the place of exercising one's faith to receive healing and this is probably the most sure way to receive it. The devil cannot robb you of the miracle received by your faith. Many lost their healings because they did not know how it came. They were healed by the manifestation of the gifts of healing. Their faith was not involved. Even unbelievers can be healed this way. It is not as the preacher wills, it is not as the sick will, it is as the Spirit wills. 1 Cor 12:11. Please see Matt 15:29-31; Lk 4:40-41; Acts 8:5-7

THE WORKING OF MIRACLES: Acts 2:22. "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by MIRACLES and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:" It is the manifestation of the Spirit that results into miraculous activities. Moses divided the Red Sea. Exodus 14:21. "And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and THE LORD CAUSED THE SEA TO GO BACK BY A STRONG EAST WIND all that night, and MADE THE SEA DRY LAND and the waters were divided." Elijah and Elisha divided the Jordan River. 2 Kings 2:8,14. Jesus fed multitude with five loaves and two fishes. Matt 14:15-20; 15:34-37. See Acts 5:12-16 and Acts 8:5-7. These are scriptural examples of the working of miracles. The gifts of power manifest in almost similar ways.

THE WORKING: Mark 8:22-25.
22. And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23. And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, and he asked him if he saw ought.
24. And he looked up, and said I see men as trees, walking.
25. After that he put his hands AGAIN upon his eyes and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
This manifestation sometimes take process of working it. Jesus had to repeat the action the second time for the blind man to see clearly. This is WORKING of miracle. Amputated hands and legs can grow into full length by process of gradual growth untill fully restored. Like I said earlier, the power gifts readilly manifest in the ministries of apostles, prophets and evangelists because of their kind of assignments.

PURPOSES OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS 1 Cor 14:7. "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man TO PROFIT WITHAL." 1 Cor 14:12. "Even so ye, for as much as ye are zealous of Spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the EDIFYING OF THE CHURCH."
The major purpose of spiritual gifts is to profit the church in many ways. The following ways are considerable: BRINGS GROWTH: Spiritual and numerical growths are enhanced when gifts of the Spirit manifest. SPIRITUAL: Paul said in 1 Cor 14:3-4 that prophesying edifies, exhorts and comforts the church. In verse 12 of the same chapter, he encouraged the individual believer to be zealous of spiritual gifts to the edifying of the church. All these enhance the spiritual growth of the church. (THE WORD OF GOD TAKES PRIORITY PLACE IN THE GROWTH OF THE CHURCH). When the spiritual growth is enhanced, all other things take their rightful places. 3 John 2.
1. NUMERICAL GROWTH: It is notable in the scripture and in our contemporary days that signs and wonders attract growth.the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit bring signs and wonders which in turn attract people to the kingdom of God and the church. The Lord Jesus himself, said that some will not believe except they see signs and wonders. John 4:48. Paul in 1 Cor 14:24-25, said that prophecy will attract the unbelievers to God. Verse 25 says, "And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will WORSHIP GOD, and REPORT that God is in you of a truth. By the healing of the cripple at the beautiful gates, multitude turned to God. The manifestations of the Spirit were some of the major occurrences that brought many to Jesus. Nevertheless, the ministry of the word is most vital. The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of Truth. The word of God is the Truth.

2. STRENGTHEN THE CHURCH: To edify means to strengthen. Spiritual gifts bring strength to the church. Acts 15:32. "And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, EXHORTED the brethren with many words and CONFIRMED THEM. Judas and Silas were representatives of the church in Jerusalem sent to the churches established by Paul and Barnabas to resolve the controversy on the issue of circumcision. These men were prophets with the gifts of the Spirit. They EXHORTED the church with MANY WORDS and CONFIRMED the church. The word confirmed used in the KJV here means STRENGTHENED. The strength of the early church, apart from unity, was the manifestations of signs and wonders brought about by the gifts of the Spirit. The bible says by the signs that were wrought among them, fear came upon many people. Acts 5:12-16.

3. ESTABLISH: To be established means to be rooted and grounded. When a church is strong, there is likelihood for it to be firmly established. The operations of the gifts of the Spirit can help in this. Note that the basic ingredient for the establishment of the church is the word of God. 4. FRUITFUL: Every establised church will definately be fruitful. Don't forget that the word of God plays a vital role in establishing a fruitful church. When the gifts of the Spirit manifest, they are for the glorifying of Jesus, the head of the church. The gifts of the Spirit cannot manifest outside God's word. 5. GREAT JOY: The manifestation of the Spirit enhances great joy. People's needs are met, healings and miracles are done. These bring joy to the church. Acts 8: 6-8. Verse 8, says "And there was great joy in that city. The purpose of spiritual gifts to the church cannot be exhausted.

AS THE SPIRIT WILLS 1 cor 12:11. ''And all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.'' The statement ''As the Spirit wills appears several times in this work. It is a statement one must note else one will run the risk of error or be frustrated in trying to make happen what the Spirit will not. The gifts of the Spirit are not manifested as one wills and at any occasion. It is as the Spirit enables. It is a spiritual malady to try to manifest the gifts when the Spirit is not willing. The reason why people run into error is because they want to manifest the supernatural at all cost. If we rely on the Spirit and prayerfuly allow him to use us, we will profit with our gifts. I desire to manifest all the gifts at all times, but it does not happen so. IT IS AS THE SPIRIT APPORTIONS AND MANIFESTS THEM.

STEPS TO PROFITING WITH SPIRITUAL GIFTS As much as it is true that spiritual gifts are manifested as the Spirit wills, we still need to take certain steps for the Spirit to use us. We have our responsibilities, and if we can fulfill them, we will be used of the Spirit. Manifesting spiritual gifts is not entirely automatic. When we have done what we ought, the Spirit will be willing to manifest them through us. A few of all the many steps we should take are listed here:

1. BE BORN AGAIN AND FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT: Acts 19:5-6. 5. When they heard this, they were BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. 6. And when Paul had laid hands on them, THE HOLY GHOST CAME ON THEM, and they SPAKE WITH TONGUES, AND PROPHESIED. No man can manifest any of the gifts without being filled with the Spirit. The sign of infilling is manifestation of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

2. UNDERSTAND SPIRITUAL GIFTS: It is important for believers to understand spiritual gifts, because it will help in ensuring that we don't abuse the use of the gifts. It will also help us to understand the importance of spiritual gifts, which will help us to yield to the manifestations. 1 Cor 12:1. "Concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you IGNORANT." God wants us to understand spiritual gifts. This is the very reason I wrote this book.

3. DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS: 1 Cor 14:1. "Follow after charity (AGAPE LOVE), and DESIRE SPIRITUAL GIFTS..." 1 Cor 14:12. "Even so ye, as much as ye are ZEALOUS OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS, SEEK that ye may EXCEL to the edifying of the church. God will always grant the right desires of our hearts that line up with the will of God. Psalm 37:4.

4. AGAPE LOVE: In Cor 14:1, where Paul exhort us to desire spiritual gifts, he put love as the motive for why we should manifest the gifts of the Spirit. "Follow after CHARITY, and desire..." In 1 Cor 13:1-2. 1. Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2. And though I have the GIFT OF PROPHECY, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and though I have all FAITH, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. The scripture above is talking about different gifts that can be manifested, but Paul said these manifestations profit nothing to one's account if the LOVE OF GOD is not the motive. Love, therefore is a very vital step to manifesting the gifts.

5. PRAYER FOR GRACE: 1 Cor 1:4-7. Please read this scripture. Paul was acknowledging that grace was what brought the enriched gifts of the Spirit to the Corinthian church. The prayer for grace to manifest spiritual gifts is very vital and we must pray it. We are what we are and all we can ever be in God's kingdom by his grace. Please read my book on THE POWER OF GRACE. 1 Cor 14:13, Paul encouraged us to pray to manifest the gifts.

6. PRAY AND ENGAGE IN THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD: Prayer and the ministry of the word activate the grace and anointing of God for the manifestation of the Spirit. Acts 6:4. Peter said "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." These two combination will produce outstanding result in any life that engage in them.
7. COOPERATE WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD: Yielding to the Spirit is one of the best steps to being continually used by the Spirit to manifest his gifts. Yielding to the Spirit is a willingness on one's part to be used by the Spirit of God. Romans 6:16. "Know ye not, that to whom ye YIELD yourselves servants to OBEY, his SERVANTS YE ARE TO WHOM YE OBEY; whether of sin unto death, or of OBEDIENCE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS." Here, Paul was talking about being taken over by who or what we yield ourselves to. Each time you yield yourself to the manifestation of the Spirit, you put yourself on the line to being used more and more. 1 Thess 5: 19-21. * 19. Quench not the Spirit. 20. Despise not PROPHESYINGS. 21. Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good.
8. STIR UP THE GIFTS AND FEAR NOT: 2 Timothy 1:6-7. * 6. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the GIFT OF GOD, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 7. For God hath not given us the SPIRIT OF FEAR; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. This scripture best suits ministerial gifts, but it can be referred to for spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are also the gifts of God. In Acts 19:6, the bible tells us that Paul laid hands on the twelve Ephesians who received Jesus and got baptized in water and they were filled with the Holy Ghost, they spoke with tongues and prophesied. So, in Timothy here, Paul said "by the putting on of my hands." The gift here could also include spiritual gift. To stir means to provoke to show. Do all you can to ensure that your spiritual gifts do not die. 1 Tim 4:14-15.
The second part says we should not entertain fear. Fear will kill the gifts. The fear of mistakes, falsehood and competence, will prevent you from yielding fully and totally to the extent to which the Spirit wants to take you. Try and be in liberty of the Spirit. If you make any mistake while manifesting the gifts, correct yourself and stand to be corrected and be encouraged to go on without dwelling on your mistakes. Don't let your past mistakes or errors stop you from flowing in the next move of the Spirit whenever he is willing. Remember that you are a clay, and still undergoing some moulding in the hands of the potter, and not yet perfected vessel and the Spirit of God understands this. In 1 Cor 14:29, Paul told us: "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other JUDGE." Why should any one judge what is intended to be by the Spirit? Because the vessels being used are not perfect. They can make mistakes. They can add from self, what the Spirit is giving. This is one basic reason why others should judge. 1 Thess 5:21. "PROVE ALL THINGS; hold fast to that which is good."

9. DO NOT DOUBT HIS MANIFESTATIONS: Doubt is a killer of the move of the Spirit. Whatever you doubt, you cannot manifest. Doubt is a robber. If you keep doubting the reality of the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, you would not be used by the Spirit even if he is willing to use you. You still need faith to carry on.

10. KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD OF GOD: Your knowledge of the word of God will enhance the extent to which the Spirit can use you. Though one can manifest the gifts of the Spirit without much of the word. Even baby Christians can manifest the gifts. The Corinthian church was virtually less spiritual. Paul called them babies in the things of God. Nevertheless, the more of God you know, the more he will use you. Daniel 11:32. "...But the people that do know their God shall be strong and DO EXPLOITS." Believers' exploits in the hand of the Holy Spirit require deep knowledge of the word of God. The bible says "deep calleth unto deep" in Psalm 42:7.

CONCLUSION Like I said at the beginning of this book, this work came up because the Spirit of the Lord instructed me to intensify my teaching on the gifts of the Spirit. Teaching on the gifts of the Spirit is one of the most challenging work to do. By the special help from the Holy Spirit, I have combined the knowledge of the scriptures, knowledge from a reliable source and my experiences in the ministry so far, to write this book. I do not conclude that I have dealt with all there is to know about spiritual gifts. The things of God are too deep for anyone to conclude so. As you take every step to do all you have learnt in this book, the Holy Spirit will teach you better. The purpose of this book is to see that the gifts of the Spirit are activated in the body of Christ to the glory of God and the expansion of his kingdom.
Make every effort to put your gifts to use. 1 Timothy 4:14-15.
